Your Love

"Your Love" is a song originally from the Filipino rock band Alamid. This rock ballad, which is included in their eponymous album in 1994, is probably their most popular song along with "China Eyes" and "Sama-Sama". It is a love song that talks about a person who fills the void of another person, thus making the person complete. Filipino singer Erik Santos covered this song in his 2006 remake album, which is also named Your Love . Your Love You're the one that never lets me sleep To my mind, down to my soul you touch my lips You're the one that I can't wait to see With you here by my side I'm in ecstasy (Refrain) I am all alone without you My days are dark without a glimpse of you But now that you came into my life I feel complete The flowers bloom, my morning shines And I can see (Chorus) Your love is like the sun That lights up my whole world I feel the warmth inside Your love is like the river That flows down through my veins I feel th...

Inihaw

" Inihaw " is a 2006 song by Filipino Rock group Siakol. It is included in their seventh studio album Sa Kabilang Mundo . The whole duration of song asks questions to the listeners about cruelty and things that commonly feared such as ghosts and dead people rising from the dead. Despite asking these questions that seems negative, it is done in a humorous way. The title of the song "Inihaw" (Tagalog word for "barbecue" or "grilled") looks like unrelated to the theme of the song but it could probably related to the frequently asked question in the song, which is " Nakatikim ka na ba ng lupit na humahagupit? " (translated in English as "Have you tasted cruelty that whips?"). It seems to suggest that the taste of whipping cruelty is barbecue.

Popularity of "More Than Words" still remained after years of its release as an acoustic ballad. This song is about love that cannot be shown through mere words. Although, it can be viewed as a suspicious plea for sex in the context of being in the Pornograffiti album, a concept album about a corrupt and immoral society. Nevertheless, majority of listeners construe it as being about emotional intimacy. Several cover versions were released by various artists like BBMak, Westlife, Walters & Kazha, and Frankie J. American parodist and musician Weird Al Yankovic parodied the video of "...

In 1996, American musician Prince has a version of this song in his Emancipation LP. One of Us If God had a name, what would it be And would you call it to his face If you were faced with him in all his glory What would you ask if you had just one question And yeah yeah God is great yeah yeah God is good yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah What if God was one of us Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Trying to make his w...

Line to Heaven

"Line to Heaven" is a mid-1990s hit by the Introvoys, a Filipino rock group. Paco Arespacochaga, drummer of Introvoys, wrote this song for his mother who died on a car accident. Paco’s son from ex-wife Filipino actress and singer Geneva Cruz was named Heaven after this song. Line to Heaven Heaven knows I’ve done no wrong I only want to sing this song to you Why did it have to end this way Only a fool like me could say to you that… (Chorus) If I ever had a line to heaven I swear I’d call you there And if I ever had a line to heaven I swear I’ll be there tonight. Now where would I be without you now I have to make it through this life somehow Only time will tell me so All the things I need to know somehow. (Repeat Chorus except last word) (Bridge) How do I find the answers All the questions I’ve been hiding inside And all the fun and the laughters We shared all have to stand beside. (Repeat Chorus 2 times)

This is their third top ten single in the United States that won "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" in the 2007 Grammy Awards, although, it was heavily criticized by the music press. John Bush described the song in All Music Guide as "one of the most embarrassing rap performances of the new millennium. On April 1, 2007, Canadian-born singer Alanis Morissette covered the song, a la torch style accompanied only with a piano in a slow pace. This seems to be an April Fools' Day prank but Alanis never confirmed this up to this moment. The following day, a music video was uploaded in the YouTube website, which parodies the dance moves of Fergie (one of the members of The Black Eyed Peas) from the original "My Humps" music video. Six days later, Alanis version was already viewed 4 million times. There were reports stating that Fergie sent...

99 Luftballons

"99 Luftballons" is an early 1980s one-hit wonder in the US and UK by a German band called Nena and it is considered as a protest song for the Cold War. This song, originally written in German, was re-recorded in English as "99 Red Balloons" that is not a direct German translation of the original version. Both versions of the song tell a story of ninety-nine balloons being released in the air, where international governments confused these objects with fighter planes, which triggers war. Numerous artists have a cover version of this song like 7 Seconds, Five Iron Frenzy, Bjork, Siobhan DuVall, BEAT CRUSADERS and Goldfinger.

All I Need

"All I Need" is a 2003 song by now defunct Filipino rock group Barbie's Cradle, which was led by Barbie Almalbis who is now on her solo career. It was nominated for "Best Music Video" in the 10th NU Rock Awards, a yearly awards event given by Manila-based radio station NU 107. Although, the video of the song was lost to 7 Foot Jr's "Daisy". The song seems to be a religious or spiritual song because the title refers to a person who only needs God and believes that army of angels are in his or her heart. All I Need Inside of my heart Is an army of angels Just ’cause I let you go Oh, volunteers they are here To love and help me Only ’cause I said no (Chorus 1) To the killer eyes That invite me to do things I would have to lie about And it’s better now, we are safe You know I love you more from far away Now that all I need is God Hey, little girls Do you still have things that haunt you Are all the words I say unclear You know I was there Just a while ...
