"Harana" (Tagalog for "Seranade") is one of Parokya ni Edgar's biggest hit. In 1999, this song got an award from MTV Video Music Awards in the "Southeast Asia Viewer's Choice Awards" category. It seems that there is some kind of irony (or humor) in this song because their doing the harana (serenade) in formal barong (a traditional Filipino garment) with the informal maong (jeans). This song was originally written by Filipino singer Tony Lambino and ended up to this Filipino alternative rock band. In 2002, Parokya ni Edgar made a full version of this song with the following addition: Uso pa ba ang harana? Marahil ngayon ay alam mo na Basta’t para sa iyo aking hirang Kahit na magmukhang hibang Tutupdin ang lahat liyag pagkat ako ang iyong bihag. Harana (Narration) Tao po!
