Everybody Wants to Rule the World

“Everybody Wants to Rule the World” is a song by the British New Wave band Tears for Fears. It was originally written by Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley and Chris Hughes, being the band’s ninth single release. In April 1885, the song peaked at number 2 in the UK charts, making it their seventh UK Top 25 hit. In the United States, the song is the lead single from their album the Songs from the Big Chair and it made in the number 1 spot at Billboard Hot 100 on June 8, 1985 for two weeks, making their first ever hit on that chart. The song, according to Orzabal, is a late addition on the album and considered to be a lightweight and cannot fit to the rest of the album. Although, Hughes persuaded Orzabal to record the song, in a planned attempt to be successful in the American charts. According to Curt Smith, bassist of the band, the song is all about wanting power, warfare and the misery it causes. Although a popular song, it has few remixes. Perfect

"Perfect" is a True Faith song from their debut album with the same name. It is a groundbreaking hit from this Filipino rock band that made them popular in the Philippine mainstream audience. This song was first heard in the airwaves in 1993 through a demo tape submitted to DWRT, a Manila based radio station. This version features clanking guitars and longing vocals in the manner of New Wave bands like the Lotus Eaters. Perfect You are...perfect You are...perfect Changing hues, the change of seasons Will leave you no clues As desperation spreads within a broken soul Life leaves you feeling dead But just like Mathis singing On a low-down Sunday afternoon; The blues split apart all my senses depart As I see you come into view Baby, as I look into your eyes Ooh, you're perfect Judging from the way you make me high Ooh, it's worth it Perfect... it's everything you are to me Perfect... and everything I am to you You are... perfect You are... perfect Crossroads and b...

99 Luftballons

"99 Luftballons" is an early 1980s one-hit wonder in the US and UK by a German band called Nena and it is considered as a protest song for the Cold War. This song, originally written in German, was re-recorded in English as "99 Red Balloons" that is not a direct German translation of the original version. Both versions of the song tell a story of ninety-nine balloons being released in the air, where international governments confused these objects with fighter planes, which triggers war. Numerous artists have a cover version of this song like 7 Seconds, Five Iron Frenzy, Bjork, Siobhan DuVall, BEAT CRUSADERS and Goldfinger.

Bizarre Love Triangle

The 1980's British band New Order was the first to record this song on their album Brotherhood and regarded as one of their best singles. Other versions of this song were covered by various artists including Frente! in the 1990s and in 2005 by The Speaks, a Filipino-American Washington-based band. Bizarre Love Triangle Every time i think of you I feel a shot right through with a bolt of blue It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find Living a life that I can't leave behind There's no sense in telling me The wisdom of a fool won't set you free But that's the way that it goes And it's what nobody knows While every day my confusion grows I feel fine and I feel good I'm feeling like I never should Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday I'm not sure what this could mean I don't think you're what you seem I do admit to myself That if I hurt someone else Then I...
