My Humps

"My Humps" is a song by American group The Black Eyed Peas from their fourth album Monkey Business. This is their third top ten single in the United States that won "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" in the 2007 Grammy Awards, although, it was heavily criticized by the music press. John Bush described the song in All Music Guide as "one of the most embarrassing rap performances of the new millennium.

On April 1, 2007, Canadian-born singer Alanis Morissette covered the song, a la torch style accompanied only with a piano in a slow pace. This seems to be an April Fools' Day prank but Alanis never confirmed this up to this moment. The following day, a music video was uploaded in the YouTube website, which parodies the dance moves of Fergie (one of the members of The Black Eyed Peas) from the original "My Humps" music video. Six days later, Alanis version was already viewed 4 million times. There were reports stating that Fergie sent flowers to Alanis with a note telling that she loves Alanis’ “My Humps” cover.

Always dancing next to me,

So don't pull on my hand boy,
You ain't my man, boy,

Esem

"Esem" is a mid-1990s hit from Filipino rock group Yano, which is included on their eponymous album. The song is a reference to SM City North Edsa, the very first super mall established by SM Prime Holdings, in Quezon City, Philippines. This mall is one of the favorite tambayan (hangout) of some University of the Philippines students, which members of Yano (Dong Abay and Eric Gancio) belong. In this song, they recount their experiences while loitering inside the mall without any money to buy things except for transportation fare and two cigarettes. It shows the true iskolar ng bayan (scholars of the nation), who strive hard to study with their little allowances.

Laklak

" Laklak " is an alternative rock song by Filipino band Teeth. The song is included in their double-platinum eponymous album in 1995. " Laklak " reached number 1 for 12 weeks in LA-105, a former alternative rock station in Manila, and was voted as Song of the Year at 1995 NU 107 Rock Awards. "Laklak" was re-recorded to fit the mainstream audience. The lyrics of the song are somewhat controversial because it talks about alcoholism in the youth. Although, it can also viewed as a way to avoid alcoholism because the song shows how too much drinking can make a person looked like a police who has a big tummy. In 2002, a cover version by Gloc 9 and Dong Abay is included in the soundtrack of Videoke King , a Filipino film, which stars Robin Padilla and Pops Fernandez. This version of "Laklak" is included in the self-titled album of Gloc 9. Laklak Nagsimula sa patikimtikim Pinilit kong gustuhin Bisyo'y nagsimulang lumalim Kaya ngayon ang hirap t...
