On April 1, 2007, Canadian-born singer Alanis Morissette covered the song, a la torch style accompanied only with a piano in a slow pace. The song was written during the regime of Former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos and it has a strong political message against the repression and violence during the Marcos era.
