99 Luftballons

"99 Luftballons" is an early 1980s one-hit wonder in the US and UK by a German band called Nena and it is considered as a protest song for the Cold War. This song, originally written in German, was re-recorded in English as "99 Red Balloons" that is not a direct German translation of the original version.

Both versions of the song tell a story of ninety-nine balloons being released in the air, where international governments confused these objects with fighter planes, which triggers war.

Numerous artists have a cover version of this song like 7 Seconds, Five Iron Frenzy, Bjork, Siobhan DuVall, BEAT CRUSADERS and Goldfinger.

" Laklak " is an alternative rock song by Filipino band Teeth. The song is included in their double-platinum eponymous album in 1995. " Laklak " reached number 1 for 12 weeks in LA-105, a former alternative rock station in Manila, and was voted as Song of the Year at 1995 NU 107 Rock Awards. Released in 1999, this song won an ASCAP Award as the "Most Performed Songs from Motion Pictures" for the 1999 movie She's All That .
