"I’ll Be There (For You)" is a song by Filipino balladeer Martin Nievera. It was taken from his 1994 double platinum album, Roads , which sold 80,000 copies. This encouraging song was personally written by Martin Nievera for his sons, Robin and Ram. The song details how Martin will be there for sons no matter what happens to them. In 2001, this song was re-recorded by Martin in his album My Souvenirs . “The Reason” is Hoobastank’s 2004 hit from their 2003 album with the same name. This is probably one of the most popular songs from this alternative rock band from California, United States. It landed on the number 2 spot in the Billboard Hot 100 charts and number 1 in the Modern Rock Tracks. The song is about a person who wants to change the way he or she used to be. The person found a way to go back to his or her old self through a reason. And the reason is someone that the person broke up with. " Kapayapaan " is a reggae song by Tropical Depression, a Filipino musical group started in 1991. This song is included in their 1995 album with the same name and one of their popular hits. It talks about peace as the title suggests ( kapayapaan is a Tagalog word for peace). "If" is a 1990s song by singer/composer Nelson del Castillo. The song talks about a man who wants to show his sincere feelings to a woman that he truly loves. This man illustrates his love through a series of conditions like if someone else would come, the man wishes or hopes it would be someone who will love her more than he is. The title of the song is based on these series of conditions. In 2007, the melody of this song was incorporated in Jim Brickman's all-piano instrumental "Hope", which is included in the album with the same name. The inclusion of this track on Brickman’s album stirred some controversy because Brickman did not give credit to Del Castillo’s original work. "(They Long to Be) Close to You" is a song originally written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. In 1963, Richard Chamberlain was the first artist who released the song as a single but "Blue Guitar", the single's flip side, was the hit song. Dionne Warwick made her version in 1965 but it was "Here I Am", the other side of the single that became a hit. The Carpenters released this song on their second album Close to You in 1970. It hit number one for four weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, making their breakthrough song. It also became a hit when Jerry Butler and Brenda Lee Eager recorded it on 1972. " Laklak " is an alternative rock song by Filipino band Teeth. The song is included in their double-platinum eponymous album in 1995. " Laklak " reached number 1 for 12 weeks in LA-105, a former alternative rock station in Manila, and was voted as Song of the Year at 1995 NU 107 Rock Awards. "Laklak" was re-recorded to fit the mainstream audience. The lyrics of the song are somewhat controversial because it talks about alcoholism in the youth. Although, it can also viewed as a way to avoid alcoholism because the song shows how too much drinking can make a person looked like a police who has a big tummy. In 2002, a cover version by Gloc 9 and Dong Abay is included in the soundtrack of Videoke King , a Filipino film, which stars Robin Padilla and Pops Fernandez. "All Out of Love" is a song originally done by Australian soft rock group Air Supply. It is included on their 1980 album Lost in Love , which sold two million copies in the United States. In 2007, Filipino actor and singer Dennis Trillo used this song in the commercial of Modess, a brand of sanitary napkin. The version of this song was later included on Dennis' self-titled debut album.
